Анотація
Виявлено особливості самовладання у поліцейських з різними стратегіями копінг-поведінки. Дослідження підтвердило, що рівень особистісного самовладання відрізняється серед поліцейських з різними стратегіями копінг-поведінки. Поліцейські з результативним копінгом демонструють вищий рівень самовладання,
проявляючи здатність до ефективного контролю над емоціями, діями та реакціями, а також до конструктивного розв’язування конфліктів. Щодо групи поліцейських зі збалансованим копінгом-поведінки, вони виявляють вищий рівень ситуаційного самовладання, краще адаптуючись до різних професійних ситуацій і здатні ефективно керувати емоціями навіть у стресових умовах, що робить їх більш успішними та ефективними. Поліцейські зі стагніючим копінгом, ймовірніше, намагатимуться уникати або ігнорувати проблемні ситуації, що може негативно вплинути на їх самопочуття та загальний добробут.
The article is devoted to the theoretical and empirical investigation of the specificity of self-control among police officers employing different coping strategies. Within the realm of psychological science, researchers analyze various approaches to stress management and difficult situations, which significantly influence the level of self-control among police officers. Scholarly works indicate that police officers using different coping strategies may have varying levels of selfcontrol, which can affect their effectiveness in solving professional tasks and interacting with citizens. The relevance of this research lies in the fact that the obtained results can be useful for understanding the importance of self-control in the professional activities of police officers and for developing strategies to improve their professional efficiency. The purpose of the article is to identify the peculiarities of self-control among police officers with different coping strategies. The study involved the participation of 486 police officers. Using H. Heim's "Psychological Diagnostic Method of Coping Mechanisms" and J. Amirkhan's "Coping Strategies Indicator," we applied cluster analysis using the k-means method to classify respondents into groups with different coping strategies. Stagnant coping was identified in 117 individuals, balanced coping in 203 individuals, and effective coping in 166 individuals. Additionally, in our research, we utilized the "Self-Control" test. The study confirmed that the level of personal self-control varies among police officers employing different coping strategies. Police officers employing effective coping demonstrate higher levels of self-control, showing the ability to effectively control their emotions, actions, and reactions, as well as to constructively resolve conflicts. As for the group of police officers employing balanced coping, they exhibit a higher level of situational self-control, better adapting to various professional situations and effectively managing emotions even in stressful conditions, making them more successful and efficient. Police officers employing stagnant coping are more likely to try to avoid or ignore problematic situations, which can negatively impact their well-being and overall welfare.
