The relevance of the article lies in the fact that the existence of any phenomenon is always based on a certain starting point, or principle. The above fully refers to the legal regulation of social protection of employees of the investigative units of the National Police of Ukraine. In this context, the principles create not only an ideological basis, they are the basis for the further development of the system of normative and legal regulation of social relations in the researched sphere of social relations. The fundamentality of the principles comes from their importance as a product of the human mind, the understanding of the environment, the determination of the laws present in it, and the consolidation of the acquired knowledge. In the article, based on the analysis of the scientific views of scientists, the author’s definition of the concept of the principles of legal regulation of social protection of employees of the investigative units of the National Police of Ukraine is proposed. The following principles are singled out and characterized: legality, the principle of goal-orientation to ensure human and citizen rights, the principle of equal access of all investigative unit workers to social protection, unity and differentiation, the principle of social justice.Метою статті є встановити коло та розкрити зміст принципів правового регулювання соціального захисту працівників слідчих підрозділів Національної поліції України. Актуальність статті полягає в тому, що в основі існування будь-якого явища завжди лежить певна вихідна засада, або ж принцип. Зазначене повною мірою стосується правового регулювання соціального захисту працівників слідчих підрозділів Національної поліції України. В даному контексті, принципи створюють не тільки ідейне підґрунтя, вони є основою для подальшого розвитку системи нормативноправового регулювання суспільних відносин у досліджуваній сфері суспільних правовідносин. Фундаментальність принципів виходить з їх значення, як продукту людського розуму, осмислення навколишнього середовища, визначення присутніх в ньому закономірностей та консолідації отриманих знань. У статті, спираючись на аналіз наукових поглядів вчених, запропоновано авторське визначення поняття принципів правового регулювання соціального захисту працівників слідчих підрозділів Національної поліції України.
