The main purpose of the work is to determine the criteria, indicators and levels of readiness of future officers of the institutions of the security and defense sector of Ukraine (SDSU) to perform the tasks assigned to them in extreme conditions of the aquatic environment. Despite the significant amount of work on our chosen area of research, the question of forming the readiness of future officers of SDSU institutions to perform assigned tasks in extreme conditions of the aquatic environment is insufficient theoretical and empirical research, which requires further research to form final judgments about this important science and practices of special physical training of the problem. Research methods: analysis and synthesis, axiomatic, historical and logical, idealizations, ascent from the concrete, formalizations, own experience of participation in hostilities, etc. According to the results of the theoretical study, we have defined the criteria and their inherent indicators: motivational (expression of interest and interest, value orientation, motivation for self-improvement, etc.), semantic (professional consciousness, formation of applied skills and special skills, etc.), analytical and evaluative (ability to self-analysis, as well as to make informed decisions, ability to perform functional duties, etc.), as well as levels in accordance with departmental legal documents “excellent”, “good”, “satisfactory”, “unsatisfactory”) formation of readiness of future officers of SDSU institutions (on the example of senior cadets of the command and staff faculty of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine) to perform tasks on purpose in extreme conditions of the aquatic environment (other conditions of service and combat activities).
