Визначено категорії інформації, яку повинна містити в собі вказана оперативно-розшукова характеристика.The objective of the paper is to provide modern operative and search characteristics of persons who commit fraud. Methods of the research are comparative, formal and logical. The relevance of the paper is determined by insufficient scientific elaboration of the issue, practical needs and realities of today. Results of the research are obtained by analyzing empirical material and statistical data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The areas of implementation are operative and search activity, criminal procedure, criminalistics. The practical importance of the paper is the fact that some provisions of the article may be used while writing monographs and methodical and educational textbooks and directly by operative units of the internal affairs agencies of Ukraine in combating fraud. The result of the study is a conclusion that police officers working in criminal investigative units of Ukraine, knowing typology of swindlers, the main features of their character and criminal behavior, will be able to combat fraud more effectively.Представлена оперативно-розыскная характеристика лиц, совершающих мошенничества, и установлены основные критерии, по которым можно распределить указанных лиц.
