Розглянуто психодіагностичні можливості методу семантичного диференціалу як інструмента
дослідження особливостей міжособистісної взаємодії поліцейських. Показано, що метод семантичного диференціалу дає об’єктивну картину сприйняття поліцейськими своїх керівників. Наведено алгоритм математичної обробки даних, проілюстровано механізм, що лежить в
основі взаємовідносин керівників поліції з підлеглими.
Зроблено висновок про можливість використання цього методу в цілях побудови системи
психологічної підтримки поліцейських під час їхньої професійної діяльності.
Psychological diagnostic possibilities of the method of semantic differential as a tool to study the
characteristics of interpersonal interaction between police officers of the National Police of Ukraine
and their leaders have been considered. The survey was conducted at the patrol police unit of the Department
of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Mykolaiv region and represented the results
of a survey of more than 100 people. The procedure of the research was based on the assumption,
under which the individual system settings regarding important people for him/her was
estimated in value judgments that were classified under the scheme of logical dichotomies (pleasant –
unpleasant, safe – dangerous, etc.). Bipolar estimates obtained by the method of semantic differential
were measured quantitatively; interaction of a chief with subordinates was described by using three
scales: activity, force (potentiality) and attitude.
Conducted study indicated that semantic differential method provided an objective picture of the perception
of the leaders by police officers; that was confirmed by additional methods, namely surveys
and questionnaires. The method in the correct form allows to diagnose communication strategy of a
chief regarding the staff of police officers, and this diagnosis gives reasons to compare the behavioral
characteristics of different chiefs. The paper presents an algorithm of full four-data mathematical data
processing; the mechanism underlying in the relationship between police chiefs and their subordinates
has been illustrated. According to the studies the assessments of activity and attitude are positively
correlated, that is, with increasing activity of a chief there is a tendency of increasing careful
attention by police officers.
As obtained estimates of an individual are an indicator of his/her communication features, semantic
differential method allows to diagnose indirectly perceptions and attitudes of a police officer regarding
chiefs in general. Psychological diagnostics of police officers’ perception of their chiefs by the
semantic differential method is also useful for the purpose of self-development and self-educating of
the subjects of communication, constructing a system of psychological support of police officers during
their professional activities.
Рассмотрены психодиагностические возможности метода семантического дифференциала как
инструмента исследования особенностей межличностного взаимодействия полицейских. Показано, что метод семантического дифференциала даёт объективную картину восприятия полицейскими своих руководителей. Представлен алгоритм математической обработки данных,
проиллюстрирован механизм, лежащий в основе взаимоотношений руководителей полиции с
подчинёнными.
Сделан вывод о возможности использования данного метода в целях построения системы
психологической поддержки полицейских в ходе их профессиональной деятельности.
