Розкрито проблемні питання імплементації принципу гендерного паритету в діяльність Національної поліції України. Окреслено репертуар гендерних стереотипів та їх вплив на проходження служби й професійну взаємодію. Акцентовано, що вкоріненість практик гендерної
дискримінації є функціонально обумовленою. Визначено основні напрямки необхідних наукових досліджень гендерних відносин у поліції.
The author has revealed the issues of implementing the principle of gender parity within the activities
of the National Police of Ukraine. It has been emphasized that so far there is a significant difference
between the statuses of “de jure” and “de facto” in terms of gender equality in practice, which is
proved by the existence of a significant number of gender stereotypes.
The author has outlined the repertoire of gender stereotypes and their impact on service and professional interaction, “a woman in uniform – no credibility”, “men are more valuable workers than
women”, “a woman within the police force can not do her job well”, “a woman and weapons incompatible”, “a woman within the police force can perform only a single type of tasks” and so on. As a
result, women face difficulties of adaptation to the conditions of service within the police, to the
dominant male environment and police subculture; their rejection as full-fledged employees by male
colleagues. They more often suffer from prejudice to their professionalism; have less mobility in the
promotion; predefined conquered to women roles in the team and are victims of sexual harassment,
etc. This situation makes the existence of a number of benefits for men within the police force associated with their status and informal dominance, material welfare, perspectives of promotion, privileges in relation to the leaders, etc. However, there are practices of informal “female privileges”
within the police force, related to working conditions and its content. Special attention is paid to the
fact that rootedness of practices of gender discrimination is functionally conditioned.
It has been emphasized that nowadays there are virtually no comprehensive research of the current state
of gender relations in the new police. At the same time, this information is very necessary to estimate
and use in a proper way the benefits that have social and psychological characteristics and styles of behavior different from each other according to gender connotation, particularly in the context of targeting
international and European standards of service approach while accomplishing professional police tasks.

влияние на прохождение службы и профессиональное взаимодействие. Акцентировано, что
укоренённость практик гендерной дискриминации функционально обусловлена. Определены
основные направления необходимых научных исследований гендерных отношений в полиции.
