Заздрість та комунікативна толерантність студентів: гендерний аспект

Abstract

У статті зазначається, що головною особливістю заздрості є непостійність конкретних об’єктів цього почуття – інших індивідів, яких багато. Заздрять завжди людям, які є власниками деяких достоїнств або переваг. Авторами відмічається також і неоднозначність та складність феномена заздрості саме в її функціях. Функції заздрості можливо розглядати у двох площинах: як з позитивного боку, так і з негативного. З позитивного боку, функція заздрості полягає у створенні конкуренції між людьми у процесі досягнення цінностей. Якщо людина досягла стану, коли вона може пишатися собою, почуття заздрості зникає. Метою дослідження є визначення гендерної специфіки взаємозв’язків заздрісності з комунікативною толерантністю у студентів. У результатах проведеного дослідження автори вказують, що у чоловіків диспозиційна заздрісність не пов'язана з нетерпимістю до оточуючих. У жінок виявлені кореляції заздрісності як із загальним показником інтолерантності, так і з більшістю шкал. Заздрість до матеріального достатку іншого і у чоловіків і у жінок співвідноситься з пониженим рівнем загальної комунікативної толерантності. Крім того, у чоловіків низький рівень толерантності корелює із заздрістю до соціального статусу, а у жінок - до комунікативних якостей.

Envy is a multidimensional socio-psychological phenomenon and can arise for various reasons. For example, when a person feels dissatisfied with his position or the achievements of other people, he may feel envy. Also, envy can arise due to inequality in society, when some people have more opportunities and advantages than others. Gender norms and stereotypes can also influence the appearance of envy. For example, women may envy other women who meet beauty standards or have high social status because they feel unfairly limited in their opportunities. Men may also envy other men who have high social status or material well-being, as this can cause feelings of failure or inferiority. That is, it can arise as a result of existing gender norms, stereotypes and competition between sex groups in one or another society. The article notes that the main feature of envy is the impermanence of specific objects of this feeling - other individuals, of which there are many. They are always jealous of people who are the owners of some merits or advantages. The authors also note the ambiguity and complexity of the phenomenon of envy precisely in its functions. The functions of envy can be considered in two planes: both from the positive side and from the negative side. On the positive side, the function of envy is to create competition between people in the process of achieving values. If a person has reached a state where he can be proud of himself, the feeling of envy disappears. The purpose of the study is to determine the gender specificity of the relationships between envy and communicative tolerance in students. In the results of the study, the authors indicate that dispositional envy in men is not related to intolerance of others. In women, correlations of envy were found both with the general index of intolerance and with most of the scales. Envy to the material wealth of others in both men and women correlates with a reduced level of general communicative tolerance. In addition, in men, a low level of tolerance is correlated with envy of social status, and in women - with communicative qualities.

Определена гендерная специфика взаимосвязей зависти с коммуникативной толерантностью у студентов. Указано, что у мужчин диспозиционная зависть не связана с нетерпимостью к окружающим. У женщин обнаружены корреляции завистливости как с общим показателем интолерантности, так и с большинством шкал. Зависть к материальному достатку другого и у мужчин и у женщин соотносится с пониженным уровнем общей коммуникативной терпимости. Кроме того, у мужчин низкий уровень толерантности коррелирует с завистью к социальному статусу, а у женщин – к коммуникативным свойствам.
