Some indicators of post-traumatic stress disorder in the civilian population of Kharkiv region under conditions of Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine

Abstract

Проведено дослідження стану психічного здоров'я населення Харківської області. Виявлено, що приблизно 22% цивільного населення Харківської області мають виражені симптоми посттравматичного стресового розладу. Припущено, що рівень ПТСР серед цивільного населення Харківської області на третьому році повномасштабного вторгнення не є критично високим, проте спостерігається тенденція до наближення до показників інших країн світу (23,26% та 29% у сирійського та ізраїльського цивільного населення відповідно), цивільне населення яких мало досвід перебування в подібних воєнних умовах.

A study of the mental health of the population of the Kharkiv region was conducted. It was found that approximately 22% of the civilian population of the Kharkiv region have pronounced symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. It is assumed that the level of post-traumatic stress disorder among the civilian population of the Kharkiv region in the third year of the full-scale invasion is not critically high, but there is a tendency to approach the indicators of other countries of the world (23.26% and 29% in the Syrian and Israeli civilian populations, respectively), whose civilian population had experience of being in similar war conditions.
